Newman Gauge delivers a creative solution to increase covers and revenue for this iconic pub in the spectacular location on the banks of the River Test.

This comfortable and cosy Country Pub has a natural character that Newman Gauge have enhanced and enlarged. The scheme consolidates extensive back of house areas allowing the public drinking area to extend into the former cellars.

Feature working fireplaces have been reinstated and original finishes exposed to celebrate the authenticity that many pubs aspire to. Newman Gauge added an uncomplicated level of refinement with distressed finishes and imposed personality into feature signwriting, lighting and artwork to ensure the environment is befitting of the surroundings.

A new external sun terrace beside the river provides a destination for ramblers and trout fisherman throughout the day. The finishes and fittings within this unique garden have been tailored to embody the spirit of the location.

Newman Gauge work closely with the Owner / Operator to bring the concept to life. Together they ensure the stories about the site and the fantastic history of this pub continue to be told to both regular and passing customers.
