We share our insights on what makes a bar or hotel popular, what furnishings are in trend and more importantly how clever design maximises space, increases service offering and more importantly how to drive a return on investment.

Great news for our first of many Toby Carvery / Orchid Pub transitional pub refurbishment / remodels for long term client Mitchells and Butler’s.

Opening in December 2014, The Waterside in Warrington – our first remodel for Mitchells and Butler’s Toby Carvery is proving a huge success with both the regulars and M&B who are reporting on average an 8% uplift in sales.

Brian Gauge, Director and Design Lead at Newman Gauge is delighted with the remodel in Warrington: “We have been working with Mitchells & Butlers for over fifteen years and have been trusted with many of their hospitality brands including Toby Carvery.

“Their recent acquisition of The Orchid Group and their drive and ambition to provide quality pubs and restaurants has been a welcome challenge here at Newman Gauge. During the project we have been able to apply our design knowledge, fit out experience, understanding of Toby customers’ wants and needs, and delivered a successful conversion project at The Waterside.”

Jeremy Skingley, Brand Operations Director, Mitchells & Butlers adds: “I’ve worked with Brian and Newman Gauge for a number of years and have always found Newman Gauge to be insightful, professional, and timely with the projects they have been entrusted with not to mention a great return on investment.”
