WHAT WE DO

Here at Newman Gauge, there’s nothing more rewarding and challenging than getting to know the client, understanding their design objectives and helping them develop their project brief to fully understand the reason for the interior design project and the outcome they wish to achieve.

CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT AND CREATIVE BRIEFING

As commercial designers, we recognise our involvement must achieve a return on investment and we tailor our designs to suit the brief and appeal to the end user.  We review the budget, programme, site constraints and carry out a survey if not done previously and work with clients to develop the project brief before the design concept takes shape.

Newman Gauge are often approached before the design phase by clients to get an understanding of whether a site can be developed for their budget or to understand the maximum capacity to plan their return on investment.  We often prepare technical feasibility studies for clients by reviewing issues such as the condition of the space, building regulations, the incoming services and prepare basic space planning exercises to indicate what can physically be achieved.

We present our findings and our concept designs visually with samples of finishes and colours, via mood boards with furnishing examples with detailed planned layouts of the development, giving the client as much detail as possible to understand our approach, see the bigger picture and ultimately visualise the end product before work starts.

Specialist and Bespoke Design

Our passion and experience for Interior Design teamed with our diverse skill set in Project Management over the years has provided us with a wealth of contacts and specialist contractors in the Design and Build industry, giving us unrivalled ability to design, develop and produce one-off, bespoke designs for our clients.

Even with limited budgets, our detailed drawings, schedules, and specifications for bespoke items including; joinery, loose furniture, light fittings, specialist designed pieces including staircases, fantasy rock work for spas to oversized gilt frames achieve the best solution for the right price.

Strategic Brand Partnerships

More than just an interior design consultancy, here at Newman Gauge we put the time and effort in to develop strong relationships with our clients to really understand their vision and their brand values.

Working with Blue Chip clients; Center Parcs, Butlins, Mitchells and Butlers and Marstons to name a few, we have been invited to not just consult on design and build projects but provide valuable input and work with them to define their core customer requirements and put into action master plans to develop their brand and their market share.

We like to work with clients who really ‘get their business and their customers’ and share their passion for what they do, ultimately emmersing ourselves into the clients’ business, their aims and beliefs and be part of the bigger picture to deliver a real return on investment,

Project Management

From concept to completion, Newman Gauge provide a full in-house Design and Build project management service; including appointing and managing other consultants such as mechanical and structural teams, coordinating specialist suppliers and contractors working directly for the client such as furniture and signage companies and managing the progress of the project and communicating effectively across each stakeholder and the client for transparency and ultimately a timely, successful completion.

Not happy until the client is happy, we always stay involved even when the site is handed back to manage any snagging and defect issues if necessary.

Cost Management and Contract Administration

Controlling both the cost and the roles and responsibilities of the team are key to delivering a project seamlessly and within budget.  At Newman Gauge, our experienced and skilled project managers are involved from the outset and take control of the costs keeping the client and design team continually informed of the financial status and how this impacts on their specific role.  Clear communication is vital and written records are prepared and distributed to everyone throughout the duration of the development.
