The Crown Inn, the fourth venture for independent pub operators Little Britain Pub Company recently opened its doors to Old Dalby village with a unique twist thanks to their collaboration with Newman Gauge Design.
“The brief was to create something different but appealing to this lovely village,” states Design Lead, Aniela Sweeney, Newman Gauge. “The interior concept evolved from the popular board game, Cluedo, allowing the rooms to evoke a sense of mystery and playfulness. The venue welcomes locals, drinkers and diners to ponder ‘who dunnit’ in their one of a kind establishment with stand-out features including; Colonel Mustard’s wingback chair taking centre stage in the Lounge next to Mrs. Peacock’s lamp; revolver book-ends complement Reverend Green’s collection of books in the Library whilst Mrs. White’s infamous rolling pin hangs in the Dining Room”.
Mike Herington, Director, Little Britain Pub Company adds: “Asking Newman Gauge to work on The Crown was a natural decision for us following the recent success at The Blue Bell. They know us well so knew they’d pay attention to the little things and come up with something above and beyond our expectations”.
